Startup idea to develop a software solution that aids in antique refinishing by enabling the user to find matching colors for pieces, locate images of authentic replacement parts and understanding the functions of handmade pieces. It could work similarly to a google reverse image search for antique objects.

I work with antique refinishing and what I have trouble with is finding matching colors for pieces, authentic replacement part images or parts, and generally a hard time finding some of the handmade pieces' functions.

What I have been doing is trying to describe the item, or use the branding and general info to see if I can find any more information.

A lot of the times it links to forums or other general public based things but nothing definitive or easy to use. If there were something like the google reverse image search for items that would be helpful.

Usually what i do is just type in as my descriptions of the item i'm restoring or repairing. That is helpful with things like manufactured pyrex bowls, or older toys; but when you get into handmade items or really old things, its a little harder to distinguish.
