Startup Idea: Inventory Management Software for Food Services
I work in food services. I work with the food inventory and storage. I am part of a national chain that has many stores.
We have various software provided by the company to help with food costs and inventory, but we have had many difficulties keeping track of products that are in the store and seem to run out of product when we otherwise shouldn't have.
We keep track of inventory twice a week and have sheets that keep track of waste. This information is kept track of digitally, but I would like to see software that would determine how much product we have been going through on average, let us know when we are wasting certain products more than usual, and alert us to product that is in danger of running out.
This would hopefully allow us to more easily see what is urgently in need of being ordered so that it is not forgotten.
We are a higher volume store and the system they have in place does not do our store justice. It is embarrassing to have to tell people we are out of certain product all of the time.
