Startup Idea: Advanced Employee Scheduling Application
I am a supervisor at a grocery store location with very high turnover, and I find keeping track of the various employees availability to be overly burdensome to lower level management.
The tool we currently use to schedule and keep track of hours worked does not include the ability to input availability restrictions into the machine, and much of this is hand-written into word documents. This is inefficient, and with the volume of work the supervisors in charge of scheduling handle, mistakes are common.
A solution to this problem would be a system like Chronos, but with many more options to add detail and restrictions to individual employees. Ideally, a warning would be shown when the scheduling manager attempts to give them hours, that could still be overridden if the employee has given consent to work outside their availability. We have been using Chronos for quite some time, which is less than optimal.
