Keep contacts in order so you know what jobs they need done and who they have already considered. The value of being a good recruiter is finding good talent that directly fills their need.
Unfortunately, all we have are vague job descriptions, sometimes with duties listed and people's past histories. This doesn't really match what jobs consultants want to do.
Many consultants are looking for different work from what they did in the past. Some people only want to work a percentage of hours and the companies want full-time contractors. Its hard to meet demands with the supply-- there's a lot of back and forth to figure out if the two entitles will be compatible.

A lot of times we'll get leads from going to conferences on who's hiring and then pitch a slate of candidates. But the companies don't want to waste all that time but they don't know a better way to connect with potential consultants.
