Startup Idea: Digital Bill of Lading and Delivery Receipts Solution for Trucking Industry

Startup idea to develop an integrated software for the less than truckload transportation industry. The software should facilitate electronic submission of bill of landings, generate electronic delivery receipts using a tablet, and indicate if the truck carries hazardous materials. The aim is to save costs related to manual paper processes and storage.

I work in the less than truckload transportation industry. A big issue we have is with paper bill of landings and delivery receipts. If we were to have a software that could be integrated in with our current system and allow our customers to submit electronic Bill of landings and allow the drivers to have a copy of these as well because they have to have a manifest of what is on their truck and if it is Hazardous materials or not.

Integrating these so that customers could receive an electronic delivery receipts using a tablet would same the company thousands of dollars if not millions.

The customers could sign using using a stylus instead and then we would not have to use space to file receipts or scan them in manually each day.
