Startup Idea: Digital Scheduling Platform for Speech Pathologists
I work for a speech pathologist in private practice, and one of my duties was scheduling client appointments. At most there were two other speech pathologists.
All sessions, which are in blocks of 30, 45 and 60 minutes are scheduled in a paper planner.
Keeping each of the 3 pathologists' handwritten schedules gets tedious and is often inefficient because it makes it so they cannot take the book with them to have a schedule of upcoming appointments, and there was no good way of indicating cancellations or what type of visit was coming up.
An ideal scheduling software would be able to pull up on a computer and a phone, allow all the users access to the three DIFFERENT schedules. In addition notes could be added about what type of therapy the client was getting or other types of information.
Because of the nature of speech therapy it would have to be HIPPA compliant. we use the pen and paper method still. Google calendars doesn't cut it because there need to be separate calendars that all people have access to. And that wouldn't be HIPPA compliant so wouldn't be able to add client information.
