Startup Idea: Environment Management ERM System for State Agencies

Startup idea to create an Environmental Resource Management (ERM) system for state agencies that accurately tracks permits, compliance reports, entities activities and related fees. This system must be easy to navigate, adaptable to unique requirements of each entity, and not cumbersome to use, enabling efficient regulation across multiple departments.

I am an environmental project manager and permit writer for the state of Indiana. Across departments, we struggle to track permits, compliance reports and activities, applications, fees, and activity in general related to the entities that we regulate.

Due to the complex and unique nature of each entity regulated, it has been difficult to find and design a system that fits the needs of each program area while not being to large and bulky of a system.

My ideal solution to this problem would be ERM system that entire agency uses, that is easy to navigate down to the program and entity that the employee is working with. This navigation is something I can easily map out on a large piece of paper, so I am sure a software could be developed with the same mapping and feedback.

Much like a manufacturing company can track their activities across departments with one system, we need a similar concept for out permitting and compliance activities across program areas and industries.
