Startup Idea: Secure and Fast Large File Transfer Solution

Startup idea to develop a software system for securely and quickly transferring large files (around 1 terabyte) from different field locations to an office server. The solution seeks to be faster and more efficient than Dropbox, hence minimizing work delays due to file transfer.

I work as a web developer intern for a small startup micro seimic company. We have employees that work in the field that transfer giant files from different locations in the field to the office. These files are at less 1 terabyte. The field locations can be from anywhere in the United States.

These files are very sensitive and need to be sent to our server using some type of secure protocol (ftps, sftp). Currently we use Dropbox to simplify this problem but it takes to long for the file to go through Dropbox and then for employees getting the file off of Dropbox.

The employees need these files to work and there are times where employees don't have any work for up to 3 hours because of this. Which causes delays in delivering solutions to our client. I the past we used sftp to try to directly transfer files to our server but it was slower than using Dropbox which is why we use Dropbox now.
