Startup Idea: Desktop Tabbed Note-Taking Application for Project Managers
As a Project Manager I track several client accounts. They utilize my company to run software testing. I use folders on my computer to hold data, but what I miss is a way to quickly look up information without having to open a folder or a word doc or constantly having to open our company website.
The information I want for quick retrieval includes PO numbers, expiration dates, misc notes (maybe something like "Carol wants a special 6 hour test run on June 9th"), and phone call and meeting notes.
Now, back in the 90's there was an app called "Higgins" that did this. It was a desktop program that had all the usual things - calendar, folders, address book. But what I really loved was how I could add a tab for each client and add notes. I could open the app, click on "Acme Corp" and right off see any notes I added. I could then click on "Cats inc." and see what I added there. No wasting time navigating to folders and opening word and excel files or google drive or whatever. Just quick and simple.
So, it's basic. I don't need a calendar or folders, just a desktop app (syncing to mobile for good measure) with multiple tabs I could label how I want and add notes. I have tried multiple apps over the years and still haunt the app stores looking. The desktop apps just don't exist anymore and the mobile apps are too simplistic, acting more like notepad. Plus mobile is hard to type on. I really want desktop, but it would be great to sync to a mobile version for when I'm out of the office.
