Startup Idea: Automated Grant Tracking System

Startup idea to develop a software solution to automate the process of tracking adjustments and refunds to grant monies awarded by non-profit organizations. The software would automatically track refunds and adjustments in spreadsheet formats, making it easier to manage and reducing the manual work involved.

I work as a grants administrator for a non-profit organization. One the jobs I am tasked with is calculation adjustments and refunds to grant monies awarded to our subrecipients.

I enter it into a excel spreadsheet, but it is hard to track when the monies are refunded, and to which programs they are charged to, as our subrecipients often have more than one program.

Is there a way to automatically track adjustments made by our grantees into our spreadsheet? We do it manually, but I know there has to be a faster way.

Right now I have to open the spreadsheets on two monitors, and track that way, but it is tedious.
