Startup Idea: College System Tracking Tool

Startup idea to develop a software solution to track the inventory of computer systems in a large college. The software should monitor the status and location change, via IP addresses, of any asset-tagged systems connected to the network and report unauthorized movements to the management.

I am the inventory manager for a college with over 2,000 employees. Over the course of 10 years our computer inventory has grown and it is point impossible to find systems that get moved around without prior authorization. We need a solution that allows us to track asset tags virtually if the systems are connected to the network and report back to the management with the IP address if it changes.
