Startup Idea: Efficient Material Layout Software for Welders

Startup idea to develop a software solution that can efficiently layout designs for bumper and accessories fabrications from steel sheets,creating minimum wastage. Ideal if the output could be integrated with CNC machinery for streamlined execution.

I am a self employed welder, one thing that I have to deal with daily is getting my work done while at the same time minimizing wasted material. I design and fabricate bumpers and accessories for off road trucks and jeeps, so I cut lots of oddly shaped pieces from four foot by eight foot sheets of steel.

To have a program that would layout the pieces in the most efficient way possible would save me a lot of time and money, especially if said layout could be imported to a cnc machine.(Computer navigated cutting) I would be willing to pay for such a program, even more so if I owned a cnc machine(which I curently do not). The capabilities of the program will dictate how much I would be willing to pay. I have not attempted to solve this issue any other way than I know how, which is trial and error.
