Startup Idea: Car Rental Security Monitoring Software

Startup idea to develop a security monitoring and tamper software designed specifically for car rentals. The software would alert the business owner or manager if there are any modifications or damages done to the car. This would solve a common issue faced by many car rental company owners by enabling them to detect dishonest customers who swap out quality internal parts or manipulate the mileage.

I own a car rental company out of New York City. I am relatively new, and have been in business for the last six years. I have a fleet of 10 cars, I mainly rent to taxi and limo companies that need last minute cars, when a fleet car breaks down. I am not a big time company like Enterprise, Avis, or Hertz. The problem that I am having (and is costing me a lot of money), is that some of my customers are crooks. For example, I have a Cadillac Escalade that I rent out, and I have noticed a few weeks later, that a lot of the internal parts were swapped out, and replaced with cheap and aftermarket brands. I have no way of proving which customer did it, as the cars get new renters every other day. I even have had the problem where the dealership told me that my odometer was being tampered with. Basically, I charge money when people go over their milege limit, so they have haves that can roll back the milege. I would like some type of security monitoring or tamper software that would notify me if something was damaged or modified from the car. I would gladly pay for this software, and it would be tax write off for my company.
