Startup Idea: GPS-Enabled Blankets for Chemical Transportation

Startup idea to develop a GPS tracking solution for blankets used in the transport of freezable chemicals. The tracking system should help streamline the process of transporting sensitive chemicals and ensure safe return of these specialized blankets, reducing the hassle and errors in tracking manually.

I work in the chemical manufacturing industry and a big pain point is transportation of chemicals - especially those that freeze during transportation during the winter months and/or travelling to colder climates. Right now we check a spreadsheet to see if it is considered freezable and if so, that means it can't move over a weekend, as it will be sitting at a terminal somewhere so we wait to ship during a weekday but still have issues. We use blankets to cover the drums to avoid the issue - but manually have to track if the blankets came back or if the customer is holding onto them. Can't the blankets have a chip or something put in them so we could track them with GPS, instead of having to call and ask where they are - if the customer even knows - since usually it's a plant guy that received in the product. I heard the blankets are home made - think this process needs to be upgraded.
