Startup Idea: Event Finder: A Location-Based Event Discovery Tool

Startup idea to develop a location-based application that provides information about all the free events happening in a city. The application would utilize map integrations to show events based on user's specific location and have filters for customization.

I work in the IT industry in Washington D.C. I recently moved to the area and am discovering all the free events that are always happening around the city. I find it difficult to find when and where events are occurring around me. I believe a tool that allows me to see what events are happening on a map based on my location would be useful and one that would be helpful to tourist and residents of cities. The application could function by showing events that are happening based on filters that the user applies.
