Startup Idea: Automated Finance Tracker and Estimator
I work tracking finances for various projects in our company. We currently manually calculate the estimate to complete for each account, basically what we think the account will complete the fiscal year at. We then take that estimate to complete number and compare it to the budgeted amount the account received that fiscal year. The goal is always to come right in on target with the budgeted amount, never over or under.
An ideal solution to manually calculating estimate to complete numbers would be a calculator that can do this for us but taking into consideration monthly budgeted numbers, actual costs from the previous months as a trend, and any future pending purchases we know about. A more accurate estimate to complete would greatly help us adjust current spending to come in closer to the targeted budgeted fiscal amount.
