Startup Idea: Smart Commute - Personalized Route Recommendation Software For Commuters

Startup idea to develop a commuter assistant software that runs on a user's home computer, analyzes and determines the quickest commute route based on real-time traffic data, and then emails the route recommendation to the user at a specified time on weekdays. This eliminates the need for using mobile data and having a maps app running in the background on the phone.

I commute to work everyday and almost everyday I take the same route. There are about 3 different ways I could travel to work but typically the same route is best.

However occasionally, there is an accident or road construction that makes one of the other two routes the quickest route. I could open google maps or another app to determine which is the best route but this is kind of a hassle and wastes data. Instead, I would find it very useful if a program could run on my home computer and would email me at a particular time on weekdays telling me which route to take.

Then, I could check my email before I leave my garage and I wouldn't have to have google maps (or a similar app) running in the background on my phone. The computer software would only have to check a finite number of preselected routes.
