In a former job, I worked as a software support engineer. I often needed to take screen shots and then paste them into bug reports. The problem was that alt-Print Screen (in Windows) would capture the entire window, but I really just wanted a portion of the window, so I would have to open Paint, paste the screen shot, then make a selection of a smaller portion to paste in the bug report. What I really wanted was a screen shot tool that did the following: Hold down some key combination that could be done with one hand. This would activate a selection tool that could be operated with the mouse that would let you select any portion of the screen. When you release the key combination, the screen shot would be taken and copied to the clipboard to be pasted wherever needed. I would pay for this function, but it would be nice if it were included in the operation system.
