Startup idea to develop an algorithm that can scan social media sources to predict upcoming trends in fashion. This aims to enable a retail fashion design firm to proactively set customer fashion preferences, rather than reacting to changes in the market.

I work in a retail fashion design firm. We are always behind the curve when it comes to predicting customer fashion choices.

We react to the marketplace, we don't proactively "set" customer fashion preferences.

What we need is an algorithm that can draw from multiple sources across social media to tell us what the "next big fashion trend" will be so we can do it ourselves, rather than waiting and responding to the market. We will be much more competitive and profitable.
