Startup Idea: Homonym Mistake Flagging Browser Plugin
I work in the information industry, specifically, I write web content.
Pain point: Although I have a good grasp of grammar, it is still common to make mistakes with homonyms. These are words that have different spelling, but they are both spelled correctly and will not be flagged by a spell-check utility if used incorrectly.
Examples are: your/you're, its/it's, to/too/two, etc.
A program that could flag commonly-misused homonyms would improve my workflow significantly. I would be willing to pay a modest price for it.
The software could be a web browser plugin that highlights common homonyms and lets you determine whether or not they are being used correctly, or if you need to edit them. It could also open a text input field where you could copy and paste some text, and it will highlight all the words that are commonly misused homonyms. This way, it could work within the browser and with text editor programs like MS Word.
