Startup Idea: 3D Customization Software for Metal Parts Manufacturing

Startup idea to develop a software solution that allows customers of a metal parts manufacturing plant to specify and personalize their requirements. The program should include features for exact measurements, part personalization, and even generate 3D views of the desired parts.

I work in a metal manufacturing plant. We manufacture and sell metal parts to all sorts of different companies. One of our biggest issues is trying to communicate effectively the exact specifications for parts with the customers. Something I think would help would be some sort of program that would allow the customer to personalize each piece to their specifications, including measurements and personalization of parts. A picture, possibly with views from different angles or a three dimensional image would be absolutely fantastic. I tried finding solutions, however the closest thing I could find required the customer to make a piece themselves tosend to us, which defeats the purpose of us making pieces to send.
