Startup Idea: Medicaid Documentation and Auditing Software
I recently retired from a non- profit serving people on medicaid. Because Medicaid was this NPO's main income stream documentation was mandatory in order to receive payment. Medicaid did not provide software for the MPO's to use but gave written guidelines of what was mandatory and what was "best Practice". As a result our agency and many others like it did their documentation on paper with out any way to track the data it was documenting. I always felt like, given the skill set, this could have been easily accomplished with software. The software could streamline the documentation process, take out unnecessary or redundant data and provide auditors with hard data to verify that regulations were being made. This was in Florida but it is also in all 50 states and was Home and Community based Medicaid Waiver services. Hope this helps, there's a great opportunity for someone with the right skill set.
