Startup Idea: Smart Home Appliance Notifications App

Startup idea to develop an app which would allow home appliances like washer, dryer, and dishwasher, to send notifications to a paired smartphone upon completion of a task. It would also deliver real time status updates, aiming to streamline the household chores process and improve productivity.

I am constantly forgetting that I've started loads of laundry or dishes. I try to remember to set a timer on my iPhone but if I leave my iPhone upstairs or in another room, then I don't set a timer. Our laundry closet is located in our garage so I even if the washer and dryer beeped or buzzed when they were finished, I still wouldn't hear it. I wish there was a setting on my washer/dryer/dishwasher that sent a notification to my iPhone that the laundry or dishes were done! This would help streamline my chores around the house and make me feel less forgetful. The appliances would need some sort of digital screen I believe, and would need to pair with a smartphone. It might also be fun to get real time updates on the status of my laundry, like "load is now spinning", so that I knew the cycle was coming to and end soon and I could get ready to fold clothes.
