Startup Idea: 3D Printing Marketplace for Custom Items

Startup idea to create a service like Amazon or Etsy, but specifically for custom 3D printed items. Users could upload their designs, and others could bid to print the items or buy them directly. This could also expand to general 3D printing, potentially including metal printing in the future.

I like to make boardgames and make my own custom figures. I would like to see a service a bit like amazon or etsy just for custom 3d printer items.

I can't afford a printer but I have used the software to make the items.

If there was a way to post your design and have people bid on them or complete the job for you.

Or, you could buy items off the site.

This can easy be expanded to 3d printing in general. With metal printing being a thing in the future. I think people will be buying custom items for something that broke. Custom screwdriver head, sewing needles, cellphone holder.

I know someone who charges a lot to use his 3d printer.
