Startup Idea: User-Based Parking Solution for Couriers and Drivers
I work as Courier on multiple platforms, (Uber Eats, Postmates, DoorDash, Caviar, and GrubHub) in Los Angeles. A common problem in this type of work, especially in Los Angeles, is finding parking.
My idea is a parking application reported by users, much like with GasBuddy people report Gas prices, and on waze people report traffic with this app people report parking spaces. So for example someone has a parking space and they are leaving, they can mark on the app that space is now free, if its a meter they can mark its a meter and how much it costs, how much time is max etc.
There is a huge market for such an app within the courier industry and possibly even outside of it because everyone in Los Angeles experiences this type of problem if they drive. Of course it would require user participation but just judging by how well gas buddy and waze both work with user input I think this is very doable.
And yes if this was actually a good working app I would pay for it and contribute, but it can also be Ad-Based as well because if its ad based I think it would help gain users. And a little side note I would have some kind of reward to encourage contributions, it doesn't have to be an actual physical reward, it could be an avatar, or a just a title rating like Waze does based on a point system. I think this wouldn't be too difficult or expensive to build but I think the demand in congested city's like Los Angeles would be very high and well worth the work.
