Startup Idea: Startup Idea for Real-Time Project Status Tracker for Remote Teams
I work in a team setting with a few people but we all work remotely in different locations. This works great because we can all work at our own pace but it causes problems when trying to figure out what our coworkers are working on.
We have tried various organizer apps and scheduling programs that log the projects that are in progress but sometimes these types of applications offer too much and make the entire thing more complicated than it needs to be.
Often we find each other just sending messages to one another in order to find out what we are working on at that particular moment. We also sometimes will make a Google Drive document with a list we can all look at.
An ideal solution to this problem would be an app or software in which multiple users could connect and each maintain some sort of organization level within their own projects, but also broadcast the current project as a sort of 'live post' to the other team members.
I imagine the situation working like this: I am working on Project B on this day and my associate who wants to check on this in order to work in tandem on the project at his own pace but without having to contact me can load an app up on the phone that simply displays that I am in progress at the moment with Project B.
I may only want to work on Project B for 30 minutes and then change to Project C for 15, so on my end of the software I would need to be able to switch between projects on the fly.
There could also be a news ticker type feed that displays all of the team members and what area of a project they are working on. Also there could be a way that different projects and task information could be shared among the group so multiple people could do a task or project without having to enter in the data twice.
We have tried multiple task organizing apps but they all fail to provide a 'live snap shot' of what work is in progress at the moment
