Startup Idea: Gift-Reminder and Delivery Application

Startup idea to develop an application that issues early reminders for birthdays of friends and family, offers gift recommendations, and directly sends these gifts per the user's request. The application would leverage existing gift-wrapping and card services, helping users fulfill their social responsibilities seamlessly.

Over the last few years I have noticed that my attention levels are not where they were supposed to be when it comes to remembering friend and family member birthdays, not even talking about buying them a present.

I end up not getting a present, or getting it in advance and forgetting about it. I am awful at this and it makes me feel embarrassed for forgetting it again!

So the solution that I have for a while wanted to find is a birthday calendar which has an ability to input the dates and addresses of my beloved ones. This app notifies me in advance, let's say 2 weeks or a week (whatever I set myself) to purchase a gift. It not only reminds me, but

1. Gives me recommendations for the gifts
2. Sends the gift to the recipient in my name. I often don't have the time to 'pop into town to pick up a hand cream'.

I think his could be easily achievable as many companies when selling in their own stores offer gift wrapping, and a card service, so does Amazon. This would help people like me- lazy and forgetful - to fulfill our social duties, and never again forget a birthday of mother or god daughter!
