Startup Idea: Digital Floorplan Management System for Retail Stores

Summary for idea #561
Startup idea to develop a software system that helps retail managers efficiently organize and visualize new product placements on store floorplans. The system should provide a digital interface where users can select their store, view specific shelves or displays and see the intended layout for different display sets. This would replace current paper-based methods, improve efficiency and enable a paperless work environment.

I work as a manager at a national retail store. Every time we have a new floor set, corporate sends us images of the new plans that have crude symbols to represent our products and their new placements.

We end up scribbling notes all over the printed sheets, spending more time and energy figuring out what the products are and how to set up the products than it should take. It's not efficient and it's mentally taxing.

It would be really nice to have a system that could list the products we need to use and the displays we need to put them on so we can gather everything first and check it off as we go.

This system would let us look at any shelf or display in the store and we could format the floorplan so it matches our specific store across the company.

Users could enter the system, choose our store, and click any shelf to see what it was supposed to look like for a given display set. We could go paperless and it would be much more efficient. I have not. We use a lot of paper print outs with written notes, and our corporate office sends constant updates.
