Startup Idea: Auto Conversion and Management Tool for Audio Files
I work as a sound engineer and a studio mix/mastering professional. I generally use Pro Tools in all instances of my sessions.
One thing that always bugs me about this system is that you can only select to output certain sound formats one at a time. What this leads to is a barrage of duplicate files, in that my clients always ask for mp3 versions, and I always output to WAV as it is a much larger, cleaner format.
Once I make the WAV, I have to run it through a converter like the one featured on Itunes, which makes a duplicate file of the other format.
Much space on my hard drives are thereby taken up by wasted duplicates.
I would love it if there was a program that took the master files I dump in a specific folder, and automatically created mp3 versions of the files that are also set to expire and self-delete.
