Startup Idea: Unified Campus Event Listing Platform

Startup idea to create a unified website for university students to advertise and find events happening on campus and in the city, which includes sorting features by school department or event search. The aim is to centralize event information currently scattered across multiple list serves, emails and websites.

I go to a large university, but I find that it difficult to find events that are happening. I have signed up for a million list serves and people send individual emails, but there is no common place to advertise events.

I wish there was a website everyone could use to advertise and find events happening on campus and in the city. And you could sort by school (engineering, architecture, education, etc) or search for an event, so you don't have to go on 15 different websites or facebook (the closest thing we've got now) to find the information.

That way people wouldn't have to commit to so many list serves, but would have access to the information about things that are going on!.
