I work in training and development for a national construction company. We have 20 branches filled with hundreds of employees. We are trying to find a way to track the career and growth of our employees in an effective way. We want to be able to codify the training progress of our teams so that we have a better finger on the pulse of our organization's expertise.

For instance, we want to be able to track a new employee's growth after his first 90 days, 180 days, 1 year, etc. Because we have so many branches, it is hard to truly say what training people have taken as it is hard to get accurate reports, especially from guys who work only in the field.

So a system that allow for people to remotely upload their training progress into a singular database would be great. I would also like this system to alert managers of when a new employee hits career milestones (such as 1 year with the company) and remind them to ensure that certain training has been completed.

Yes, I have searched on Google to see how other large companies solve this problem. For instance, looking at how companies like Walmart or Target track this.

We currently use an internal LMS that has some of these functions but is not nearly automated enough for our purposes.
