Startup Idea: Resource Management and Scheduling Software for Window Cleaning Services

Startup idea to develop a software compatible for window cleaning service providers that considers level of skill of the technicians, type of equipment needed, time, and frequency of the job to create an automatic gantt chart and schedules. Innovation required in areas of automatically repeating jobs as per industry requirements.

I work for a window cleaning company. We do interior and exterior window cleaning with a specialty in high-rise window cleaning (eg. cleaning the outside of the empire state building).

Their are many barriers to scheduling at my company, like the skill level of the technicians available (whether a person can only do ground level/interior work, use cherry pickers/boom lifts, use ropes tied to the roof to descend down a building, etc.), type of equipment needed for a particular job (type of cherry picker/boom lift, ropes), date range and time range when the job can be completed etc. I'd like a program that takes all this information and creates a gantt chart and automatically creates a schedule based on the different resource availabilty (again, type of tech, lift availability) and plugs it in within certain dates.

There are some programs that do this to a degree but none of them effectively and because most of them are designed for the construction industry none of them allow for automatically repeating jobs. In my industry you may have to do a job as frequently as weekly or as infrequent as 1-2 times per year.

My thought would be to have all the resources available for example, 10 available ground level/interior techs, 10 techs who know how to use lifts, 7 techs who know who to use ropes to descend, 2 - 50' lifts available, 1 - 80' lift available, etc. Take that information and compare it to the constraints of each job. For example 3 jobs might require 2 - 50' lifts and all have to be done in June. So the program would schedule them in June but they could not be done at the same time because only 2 - 50' lifts are available. The program would figure all the resources available and all the constraints of the job and automatically create a schedule. There are many other features that could be useful but this would be the main crux of it. Yes. I'm not sure which terms I've used but everything I've found that is remotely close is construction software that is meant for one off events and lines up a construction project.
