Startup Idea: IoT Solution for Remote Blood Sugar Monitoring

Startup idea to develop an Internet of Things (IoT) device which allows for remote monitoring of a diabetic patient's blood sugar levels. This tool will help family members keep track of their loved one's health even when they are not at home, erasing worry and ensuring safety.

I am a professional pilot which means I am traveling most days and out of town a lot. My mother is sometimes home alone and she also has type 1 diabetes. The concern for me and my family is that if she gets low blood sugar she could go into a coma. A lot of times I call home and get no answer so my mind jumps to the worst possible scenario that she has low blood sugar. If there was an internet of things type of solution so that family members could monitor her blood sugar our lives would be way less stressful.

A device that could actively monitor her blood sugar and make it available for us to check over the internet would be the greatest invention in our families lifetime.

Thank you. I have heard of live blood sugar monitoring for diabetics, but none of the devices broadcast the information anywhere except that person who is wearing the monitor. It is every family members worst fear that their loved one is having a low blood sugar episode.
