Startup Idea: Forestry Log Mill Management Software

Startup idea to develop software to consolidate and streamline communication between forestry loggers and mills. The platform would share real-time inventory needs of mills, helping loggers properly distribute their cut trees to mills that currently need them.

I work in forestry. The pain point is staying in touch with the mills that could send out a load sheet to know where to bring what trees to different mills.

We are looking into software to help us with this problem. With this software we could know where to bring what timber to what mill. We have mills that handle all the types of timer but many loggers use the same mills and they don't know what the mills need at a given time.

We need software that joins all loggers together to all of the mills that we are close enough to that can take what we are cutting and we cut different trees in a day we have pine hardwoods cypress being cut in the same locations.

Some mills fill what they need on a certain type of wood at different times during the day and we need to know who needs what wood before we leave to make a run to a mill. The company is just now seeing the problem and time being wasted.
