Startup Idea: Emergency Alert System for offices

Startup idea to develop a software-based emergency alert system that can silently notify all employees in an office about various emergencies, including active shooter situations, tornado warnings etc. The system should be inclusive for the deaf or hard of hearing and beneficial in situations requiring quiet alerts.

At my office we recently had Active Shooter training. We realized there is no way for our office to silently alert everyone in the building of a situation such as an active shooter, and also that our other emergency alerts such as tornado warnings are also only verbal on the overhead speaker.

The fire alarm has flashing lights as I believe all are required to. There is no way to alert those who are deaf or hard of hearing, or when it is beneficial that people find out quietly.

This would be useful for both the active shooter scenario as well as for elder communities or older workers. We tried brainstorming or discussed a group email, but there are groups in our office who are not on individual computers throughout the day.
