Startup Idea: Freelance Photographer Assistant Directory Startup Idea

Startup idea to develop a directory software for freelance photographers that facilitates finding and hiring required people such as assistants, food stylists, hair or makeup artists, etc. The directory should allow sorting by location and availability. The aim is to reduce the inefficiency of sourcing freelance support through social media platforms.

I am a freelance photographer and run all of my business by myself, i.e. no assistants or outsourcing. I do most jobs by myself as well. Due to the nature of the job there is not much opportunity for networking with other photographers while working - any of that has to happen outside of jobs (i.e. meetups, workshops, etc.)

When I do need a second person for a shoot that is not a photographer they are hard to find. Examples are assistants, food stylists, hair or makeup artists, etc. I often ask generally in a photographers facebook group for recommendations, but often the message gets lost or people are not willing to recommend someone (for fear of losing that person themselves).

The ideal solution to this problem would be a directory of people I could browse through and contact about a potential shoot. Ideally I would be able to sort by location and availability. Yes. Search terms: photographer assistant help, photographer networking directory, creative job directory

Currently I solve the problem by posting a request for recommendations in a Facebook group. This process is time consuming and not always effective.
