Startup Idea: Database and Nametag System for Co-working Spaces

Startup idea to develop a comprehensive software system for makerspaces that automatically scans IDs, fills and prints name badges, records user data, and generates growth, return rate, and demographic reports.

I am a student working as part of a team to create a database and nametag system for a local makerspace in order to cut down on their worker overhead tied up in having physical name badges for all users on site.

In the new system, the goal is to have a piece of software that can accurately scan someone's ID, autofill various fields across the name badge, and print it out on a label system while recording values in a database. Unfortunately, the solutions we are looking at are relatively limited, accomplishing one section of this function or another, but not all.

In addition to accomplishing this basic task, analytics and regular report outs on user demographics, as well as growth and return rate would be useful.
