Startup Idea: Retail Employee Notification Software

Startup idea to develop a system that provides instantaneous notifications to employees' work devices in a retail environment. This will replace the cumbersome walkie talkie communication, making processes more efficient. Notifications could include tasks needing resolution like returning of merchandise, need for additional staff upfront or customers needing help.

I work in the retail industry. A current issue that we have is that employees rely on walkie talkie communication which can become busy and unintelligible during high traffic times of day.

I would like to see a system that instead sends instantaneous notifications to employees' work devices about issues that need resolution, such as returned merchandise needing to be picked up from the front desk, a certain number of employees needed to report to the front for back-up, or a guest utilizing an employee help summoning button.

I imagine this would take the form of a master signaling board at the front lanes, the operator desk, and in the employee help summoning boxes, where there are specific buttons to press for each task, and then sent to a certain device(s) (EG send back up request to devices 1, 3, 5, 6).

The devices would receive a request and would sound an alert that would only be silenced after 1 minute or an appropriate amount of time for the team member to have actually resolved the request.

This solution would streamline walkie chatter, promote accountability in allowing specific devices to be requested, and leave the spoken channels open for unique requests and work-related questions.

I believe this is adequate for 2 developers because it would be the software development and could likely be integrated into existing hardware that stores utilize. It could be tested in smaller retail outlets and probably would be sold to a larger investor when ready to be implemented on a scale that is excessive for a small team of developers.
