Startup Idea: Automated Scheduling System for Service Businesses

Startup idea to develop an online tool integrated with a WordPress plugin for managing employee schedules, customer appointments, and job clustering for efficiency in service businesses. This system will allow clients to self-book appointments based on staff availability, manage job locations by zip code, and log-in to view schedules.

I owned a small cleaning business for 15 years. We never had a simple way to schedule jobs.

What would have been great was a way for my regular customers to go to my website and schedule the day and time that they wanted us to visit. It would also have have to know when we had employees available.

This would have saved a ton of time as I was a one man show at the office. I had to take calls from our clients and then schedule them using Yahoo and then later Google calendars. It was very inefficient.

This would work for any service business that sends employees to job sites like plumbers, electricians etc.

Attach it as a plugin to a WordPress website and it would be very helpful to small businesses as a lot of them use WordPress for their websites.

It would need to have a way for the clients to sign up and log in so that they could see the calendar and the times we have people available.

Even better if it could block out certain areas by zip code. For example you don't want to do Ms. Jones who is 45 miles away then Ms. Smith who is next door to your shop. Then back to Ms. Jones neighbors house 45 minutes away.

You would need to be able to group your clients who are close together at the same time to avoid driving all over town and save on gas and labor costs. That would help set it apart from other solutions that are available. I have tried but I was never able to find something that was efficient enough to use. It was always easier to just schedule jobs myself.
