Startup Idea: Real-Time Commenting and Secure File-Sharing Software for Audio Engineers
I am an audio engineer that works in the classical music industry. We record multiple rehearsals and concerts per week, and every client wants to hear a rough version of the recording before committing to the final. However, many clients don't know how to talk about what changes they want, and don't know how to references specific spots in the recording they have issues with.
In addition, there's little built-in security in most file-sharing systems. A client, if they wanted to, could download the recordings and keep them for themselves, which could lead someone to take the recordings and neglect to pay us.
I would love to see a software that allows clients to listen to a recording and make comments in real time. For example, if they have a problem with the level of trumpet at 1 minute, 15 seconds, they should be able to comment at that moment and I should see that's what they're referring to. This is so much better than "I think the trumpet was too loud during the second theme". In addition, clients should be barred from downloading and accessing files outside the software until they have paid. That would give me piece of mind.
