Startup Idea: Route Management Application for Small-scale Couriers

Startup idea to develop a customized, affordable route management application suited for small-scale couriers. The app will include features such as a manual route input, GPS tracking, voice memos for each stop, and a flagging tool for special delivery instructions.

I am a flyer delivery courier with a route of approximately 450 stops. There is no current software available in the Canadian IOS market that will allow me to put in all of my addresses, and mark off as I deliver to each one.

There are many software options out there for trucking industries and cab companies that do something similar, but they are not able to do small routes like mine with the capabilities I need.

My dream application would have: - ability to input route manually - ability to track route by GPS - memo and voice memo feature for each stop - flagging tool for addresses that do not receive delivery or have special instructions. (ie: some addresses receive multiple flyers due to apartments or nursing homes) Because this is a small route, it is a very small income. I'd be willing to pay for an app that does this, but only a one time fee.

I only make $100 a week doing this route, so the app would need to be less than $5 to be feasible in my budget. Having an application that would meet those needs would allow me to have a smoother, more efficient route each week and also allow me to have a tangible record of the deliveries to provide to my supervisor. It would also allow me to stop and start the route without losing my place, and give the opportunity to share the updated route map with another courier if I was unable to do the weekly run. Voice memo capability is essential, as I am driving for most of this route and need to stay hands-free.
