Startup Idea: Sales Tax Tracking Software for Small Businesses

Startup idea to develop a software tool that assists small businesses in tracking sales tax. This application should distinguish local sales (on which taxes are owed), and interface with the PayPal Here app. The software should provide options for outright purchase or a low-monthly subscription.

I have a small business selling t-shirts and jewelry. I sell my products on Facebook, eBay, and at local events and fairs. I pay my sales tax twice a year but break it down monthly using an Excel spreadsheet.

I would love some kind of software that would keep track of which sales are local to my state (those I owe sales tax on), and which are not.

I use the PayPal Here app to log each sale when I'm at an event so some kind of interface with that app would be perfect for my situation.

I would definitely buy this kind of software ... maybe some kind of low monthly subscription for it as an option to purchasing it outright since some months I don't have any events or local sales, and wouldn't need it for that period.

The suggested idea would save me lots of time and frustration when it comes time to pay my sales tax.
