Startup Idea: Crew Safety Duty Tracking and Certification Management Software

Startup idea to develop a software for managing and tracking crew members’ safety duties and their relevant certifications in a marine environment. The system should automatically block the assignment of tasks to uncertified crew members.

I am a training manager responsible for approx 8000 crew. These crew have safety duties on board the vessel outside of their professions on board. I would like to see a software solution that could track the safety duty assigned to each crew an a complete history of all duties that have ever been assigned to them. This software must also concurrently show certification relevant to those positions and block assignment of non suitable crew. I have searched for crew certification management tools to no avail. At the moment we run concurrent databases in different windows showing relevant crew certificates and rely on knowledge of the crew themselves and what they have done in the past.
