Startup Idea: Real-Time Auction Management Software

Startup idea to develop a real-time auction management software solution. The software will enable auctioneers to digitally record sales data at the podium, which then instantly updates the cashier's records, eliminating the need for paper records and reducing customer waiting time. The software must be secure for handling sensitive information such as addresses and credit card details.

I am in the auction business, and I sell about 70-80 items an hour. An issue we have is we, and most other auctioneers, simply record prices and bidder numbers on a sheet of paper, which is then brought over to the cashier when the paper is filled (maybe every 2 dozen items or so). The problem with this, buyers usually end up waiting around in line until the papers with their purchases are brought up. Right now there is no, that I have seen, simple solution to this problem tailored to the auction market.

When buyers register, their bidder number is associated with their info, such as payment and address. This information stays on the cashier's computer. An ideal solution would allow the auctioneer, or an assistant, to record prices at the podium with a tablet/computer, which then automatically updates a similar software installation on the cashier's computer. That way everything is instantaneous. It would need to be secure to store credit card information and addresses. Yes, I have asked colleagues in the business, and have looked some online with search terms such as "auction sales solution" and "auction manager".
