Startup idea to develop a software solution for appliance manufacturers to track their products in real-time. The system needs to be capable of locating the product based on a serial number or barcode, showing its path, ETA, and providing the truck driver's contact information.

I work for an appliance manufacturer as an area sales manager. When we ship product, it goes from an authorized distribution center to a scheduled delivery service, and often the wires get crossed in delivery. That means our product is late, and customers are angry. In order to track down the product, I often have to make 2-3 calls and repeat myself over and over. If there was a system, where, based on a serial number or barcode, I could know the exact location of the product, the path it was on if it were on a truck, and have the ability to see ETA, that would be excellent. It would be even better if it were in real time and we had the numbers of the truck drivers to contact. We would most certainly pay for such a service.
