Startup Idea: Grant Sorting and Translation Tool for Volunteer Services

Startup idea to develop a software tool designed to help volunteer services like ambulance crews identify relevant grants. The tool would sort through a vast array of sources (federal, state, private) based on input needs and translate the grant requirements into a simple, comprehensible format.

i work for a small volunteer ambulance service.

like most ambulance services we struggle for funds, as the majority of our patients can't, or don't, pay.

we have enough money for the fuel bill, but larger purchase (AEDs, a new ambulance, etc) are outside our reach.

we know that there's grant money available for people like us, but sorting through the various federal, state, private grants is beyond us. there are thousands of them and few actually apply.

it would be nice if there was some type of software tool where you could put in your "need" and it would sort the various grant offerings to come up with some possibilities.

even better if the software could interpret the grant requirements into english. because we're volunteer ems folks...not professional grant writing folks.
