Startup Idea: Unified Log Analysis Software

Startup idea to develop a software that can collect, analyze and interpret logs from different systems regardless of the system's vendor, hardware, software platform or log format. The software would provide a consolidated report of the most serious errors, allowing the user to configure the report to suit their needs and have various notification formats.

I work in IT.

Every morning I come into work and review logs from systems that, overnight, have done backups, updates and upgrades, security scans, and have experienced various errors.

I spend a portion of my morning reviewing those logs, searching them for various types of errors (the most serious) and then deciding on which issues I need to address.

These systems are from disparate vendors, across different hardware and software platforms, and don't have a common log reporting format.

What I need is software that would collect and interpret all of these different log formats, aggregate the serious errors into a single report that listed only the most important details.

This report would be configurable so I could "tune" it to be as accurate and efficient as possible.

It would report the data in various ways according to my needs, with multiple notification methods and formats.
