Startup Idea: Real-Time Barcode Scanning System for Casino Machine Maintenance

Startup idea to develop a real-time barcode scanning software system for casino machine maintenance. This system aims to digitalize traditional manual recording tasks and automate communication with headquarters, thus improving work efficiency and eliminating potential errors caused by working in noisy environments.

I work for a government agency in a casino. My job often requires me to go to slot machines with technicians to fix the machine. The duties are as follows: -Record the machine number, old security seal number, and new security seal number on a machine repair form. -Call headquarters and ask them to enable the machine once work is done. -Give the form to my boss at which point he transcribes all the data on the form into a computer database then throws the form away. This is pointless and a waste of time. We need software that could integrate with hardware/materials (which we also don't have) that would make this process less time consuming. We need a real time bar code scanning software/program to eliminate paper. The software would also be able to send an alert to our headquarters to let them know the machine is ready to be put back into play. This feature would eliminate phone hold times and miscommunication due to working in a loud casino trying to talk on the phone.
