Startup Idea: Integrated Inventory Management System For Online and Physical Stores

Startup idea to build a software solution to streamline inventory management for businesses with both physical and online stores. The system would integrate with existing POS systems and online platforms, automatically updating available inventory on all platforms when a product is sold, reducing manual interventions and minimizing customer dissatisfaction.

I currently work in retail for an independent boutique. We specialize in women's clothing for petit and small framed women. We also sell products on ebay and Amazon to supplement store sales.

Since most of our merchandise is acquired from existing businesses, either those going out of business or businesses/clothing stores with too much inventory to sell through the season.

As the holiday season is approaching, we are ordering more stock to be able to maximize sales during the busy shopping season, and it is always difficult to maintain track of what inventory we have on hand. We have a POS system, but it does not link to the goods we have for sale on ebay, Amazon or our own website.

We track sales on ebay and Amazon using ShipStation, but anything sold from our brick and mortar store, we have to go in and manually remove these items from our online stores to keep inventory listings current.

A system that would allow us to update our online store inventory numbers as products are sold from the checkout of our store would be mostly ideal. This way, when items are sold in-store, the listings and/or quantity counts in all of our online storefronts will be automatically updates as well.

We would be MORE than willing to pay for such a solution in our store. This would not only save us time with managing our online storefronts, but it would prevent a lot of custom frustration when they purchase something online, only to discover it's previously been sold in-store.
